Pigeon

A collaborative project between me and some classmates. This pigeon served as a unique challenge as it was my first time rigging for muscle simulation. As such, it used a lot of corrective blendshapes to make sure that complex skeletal structure does not clip with the skin of the pigeon.

Rig Demo

A large part of the challenge with this rig was maintining the sillhouette throuhgout its movement. To achieve this, a lot of correctives blendshape were required, as well as delta mush deformers to smooth out the neck and belly area. With this came the added challenge of ensuring that the skeleton wouldn't clip through the skin mesh, turning into a balancing act of finding the correct amount of space to smooth over and bulging out areas impacted too heavily using corrective blendshapes.
